3Gs Downgrade Assistant

icon This is a tool that I whiped up to assist in the downgrade of firmware 3.1 to 3.0 (or if you’re lucky 3.0.1) using Saurik’s method.

In order for his method to work you had to allow Cydia to store your 3Gs SHSH key.

This tool is ONLY for 3Gs iPhones and is NOT a jailbreak method!

Update – Fixed the error you get for the log.txt file. Re-download the application and everything should work properly.

    There’s a problem when I open the program:

    “Could not find a part of the path ‘C:\Documents and settings\*******\Application Data\difrnt\3Gs Downgrade Assistant\log.txt’ ” what I have to do? I don’t understand what’s wrong, could you help me please…

    I get the same error as Vic. I also tried openeing it in compatability mode and it gives me the same error message.

    What if you don’t have your SHSH file backed up? Is there a way to downgrade? I don’t want to jailbreak, just downgrade to 3.0 or 3.0.1…

    Thanks to all who are involved for supporting the community.

    The idea with Sauriks server is very good, but has a couple of issues, some of which might become real problems in the future.

    If you are not JBroken and you connect to the overlord, there is no way to find out if your “blob” was properly stored.

    In any case, if your blob was correctly stored, there is no simple way to find out for which FW version.

    There s no way to download your own blob.

    The solution with Sauriks server is a great achievement. However, if I understand correctly the case how he collects blobs from phones that are not JBroken, the phone sends its ECID to his server and his server obtains the signed blob from Apple.

    This method would have the problem, that Apple could simply stop signing ECIDs arriving from his server and then any tool for a solution based on the Cydia server would become obsolete.

    In the long run, it would probably be better for the community to have each “blob” stored locally on the computer of the owner of the iPhone and to have restoring, downgrading and JBreaking tools that do not depend on the Cydia server.

    This would also avoid increasing bandwidth costs for Saurik when the number of users of his server continues to grow.

    Great work difrnt! With the number of people that were having troubles with /etc/hosts and general downgrading this tool should help people out quite a bit!

    i had a trouble with 3gs downgrade assistant and my ecid is on file with cydia.saurik server and i still have error 3002 because i did a restore system since 3.0.1 because i had a recovery loop problem please help me to downgrade to 3.0.1 or 3.0 ipsw

    I did the Saurik’s process (http://www.saurik.com/id/12) for restoring Iphone 3GS with 3.0 and did well. Then I jail break it with purplera1n, unlocked with redsn0w.

    I registered my phone in cydia for ECID SHSH and today my phone stuch on black screen i tried to restore it in DFU mode but did not help at all I took it to apple store they update it for me to 3.1 and I came home to use Saurik’s method but did not work I changed my hosts file both on my pc and mac but still itunes gives me error say it’s not eligible ….. I had purchased my iphone a week ago i jailbroke it since they one and i chose make my life easier in cydia. please help what to do i need to jailbreak my iphone I cant leave without it. Thanks
