ECID Grabber & iBEC and iBSS Grabber

ECID Grabber

I got bored and developed this today.
It grabs your ECID for you for purplera1n.

It simply makes the process of getting your purplera1nyday certificate faster. :)

Download ECID Grabber HERE

*NOTE: This is IMPORTANT for 3Gs Jailbreaks! Hurry up and get your cert today!

iBEC and iBSS Grabber

If you find it too hard to manually grab the iBEC and iBSS files that may be needed for the 3Gs Jailbreak, try this app out.

Download iBEC and iBSS Grabber HERE

UPDATE:
The application crashing issue should be fixed now, if it happens again please email: difrnt@difrnt.com or tweet @difrnt

thanks for these files! one question — when i ran the iBEC/iBSS grabber i got an error message after i started the DFU restore (and had to quit the program). still, it appears the files are in the directory i designated — is the error expected?

Hello! Thanks for the tool :) When I run this as administrator on my Windows 7 machine, it captures the folder and crashes right afterwards. The resulting folder doesn’t contain the iBSS file, so I assume it crashed before the tool was able to copy the file. Any ideas?

I am getting reports of the iBEC/iBCC tool crashing after grabbing the files. I will investigate and hopefully be able to correct the issue sooner rather than later.

when using this method you get the two files that you need but they end up 1kb bigger which is 103kb… but when you use the iclarified method you get a different size of a 102kb… did i do something wrong?

  16. difrnt Says:
July 2nd, 2009 at 3:54 pm Reply to this comment

    allen, which method?
Mine watches the temp directory and makes a copy every time something is created/modified.

  17. simpl3lang Says:
July 2nd, 2009 at 3:58 pm Reply to this comment

    @allen

the folder grabbed and saved has a size of 206kb (base on what i got). but it doesnt mean the ibss and ibec are 103kb each. there were other files grabbed in the process (again based on mine) making it 206kb. i did check the ibss and ibec on mine…it says 102kb.

THE ONLY THING IM WORRIED ABOUT IS IF THE IBSS AND IBEC FILE I GOT ARE NOT CORRUPTED DUE TO THE FACT THE PROGRAM CRASHED AFTER IT GRABBED THE NECESSARY FILES

    can any1 confirm…..corrupt or not????

Net Framework 2.0 was the key. I Googled the error message and it pointed to the Net Framework. once I installed it, everything worked fine with no issues, crashes, or anything unexpected.

    ====================

Ok, here what worked for me because I too want to capture these files so future jailbreaks from The Dev Team are easy.

Watch the video by TheVincentLee where he goes through the whole process including putting your phone into FDU
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34FA6M-hhQ0

Use dirfnt’s tool to capture/copy the folders for you and after the restore, search for. dfu
    http://difrnt.com/blog/?p=25

I tried the manual method a few times and kept missting the iBSS file too

    Awesome program.
Just make sure that iPhone is in DFU mode and not Recovery Mode.
    The difference is explained here:
    http://www.ihackintosh.com/2009/06/recovery-mode-and-dfu-mode/

Only after putting iPhone into DFU mode I was able to get both files (including iBSS).

Follow instructions in the link above to put iPhone into DFU mode

After I downloaded the ECID grabber, I opened it and it tells me to go to purplera1n.com and get my ECID. After I did that, it downloaded something else and when I opened it, nothing happened and it told me to do the same thing again (go to purplera1n.com and get my ECID again) I downloaded twice and nothing happened. My iPhone 3gs was in dfu, I’m running Windows Visa 64 bit Home edition. Can someone help me please

  38. difrnt Says:

@Ceaze: Try it from Recovery mode.

  39. Ceaze Says:
July 8th, 2009 at 5:43 pm Reply to this comment

I already tried that. I can’t get past the first screenshot on top of this page where it says “Get ECID”. I clicked Auto-Download Certificate and it made me save another file. Then when I tried it, it still said that I had to do the same thing. I did it twice with the same results. Please help.
    Thanks

PS: Will apple know that these files are missing by plugging in my phone in their system and then in turn, voiding the warranty, or can you just restore and everything goes back to normal?

What a toll works great. I only found out if you launch the tool and the put your phone into DFU mode and then restore. The tool will grab both files at once for you and thats it. Wish I found it sooner I had to restore and resync like 4 times and only got the ibec file. Sound out man for making it.

I have used the grabber 3 times and have gotten windows errors each time. The first two times, I did the restore in recovery mode, but the 3rd was in DFU mode. The third time, I now have iBEC and iBSS files in the folder, but I still encountered an iBSS Grabber error. Does this mean that I do not have the complete files since the program shut down? Both files are 102KB with 104KB on disk

I finally figured it out why I wasn’t getting the IBSS file. ID10T error on my part. I always get ahead of myself and think I know what to do. So I assumed recovery mode and DFU mode were the same. The IBSS file can only be obtained in DFU mode. And in true DFU mode, you’re iphone screen is blank. If you see a usb cable and itunes cd, then you are in recovery mode and you are in the wrong mode. Hope this helps anyone.
